What WDO Desk collects, and why.

WDO Desk is operated by Slate71 LLC. It is a field application used by licensed inspectors on behalf of the pest-control company that employs them. This page describes what we receive when you sign in and what happens to the inspection data you capture.

Signing in with Google

Sign-in uses your Google account. We request only your name, email address, and profile picture, and we use them for one purpose: to confirm that you are on your employer's inspector roster and to identify your work in the app. We never see your Google password, and we do not request access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google data.

WDO Desk's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Inspection data

What you capture in the app belongs to your employer, the pest-control company, and we process it on their behalf under our agreement with them: property addresses, findings, diagrams, and the notes you dictate. Dictated audio is sent to a speech-to-text provider to produce a transcript; we keep the transcript and do not store the audio file on our servers. Findings are structured with the help of an AI model and reviewed by you before anything is sent on. Finished work is delivered into your employer's own system of record at their direction.

Who else handles the data

We rely on a small number of service providers to run WDO Desk: Google for sign-in, a speech-to-text provider and an AI model provider for transcription and extraction, hosting and database providers for the application itself, and an error-monitoring service. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. We do not sell personal information and we do not use it for advertising.

Retention and deletion

Account and inspection data are kept for as long as your employer's agreement with us is in force, and are deleted at their request when it ends. If you leave your employer, your sign-in is revoked when their roster changes. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Each customer's data is isolated from every other customer's at the database level, and access by our service providers is limited to what their service requires.
